Who We Are
The Stunning Sigma Eta Chapter was chartered at Northeastern Illinois University on April 6, 2011. Charter Members: Chakira Hamilton, Sheakila McNeal, Janean Watkins, Casey Hickman, and Jami Tillis
OUR MISSION
It is the mission of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. Our goal is to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Our members, affiliates, staff, and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with our vision.

Herstory: Central Region was established in 1925 and organized in 1940 by Sorors Homer Woods of Chicago, Illinois, and Ruth Armstrong of St. Louis, Missouri. The first annual Central Regional Conference of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., met on the campus of the University of Illinois, Carbondale, Illinois, May 10-12, 1940, with Psi Sigma Chapter of Kansas City, Missouri serving as hostess.
